Context-Sensitive Personalities and Behaviors for Robots

چکیده
This paper proposes Context-Sensitive Behaviors for Robots (CSBR), a method generating diverse behaviors robots in indoor environments based on five personality traits. is novel model developed this work that reacts to synthetic genome defines the of robot. The functions return different answers and reactions, depending given spoken request. responses robot included answers, facial animations, gestures, actions. novelty lies its capacity adapt behavior according context Moreover, scalable since not only but also physical responses, such as opening gripper, saying hello with or animating face represents an emotion context. Changes parameters produce behaviors. By defining genomes, can people's moods. In work, we introduce two scenarios human–robot interaction domestic (house office) through requests from human user. We implemented our Care-O-Bot 4 defined three genomes behaviors: friendly, detached, hostile. considered scenarios, asked same set every genome. Not did answer personality, it proved produces For these assume request includes connotation. Since has characteristics influenced by context, show robot's changed mood environment.

Context-sensitive cell behaviors during gastrulation
Cell interactions are important during gastrulation in many particularly those of Holtfreter, firmly established systems. Sea urchin gastrulation provides a simple model sys that tem for understanding these cell interactions, and many of "the directed movements of embryonic regions the cell behaviors that contribute to gastrulation have been can actually be traced back to basic faculties of th...
متن کاملGARGOYLE: Context-sensitive active vision for mobile robots
Researchers in robot vision have access to several excellent image processing packages (e.g., Khoros, Vista, Susan, MIL, and XVision to name only a few) as a base for any new vision software needed in most navigation and recognition tasks. Our work in automonous robot control and human-robot interaction, however, has demanded a new level of run-time exibility and performance: on-they con gurati...
متن کاملTowards Personalities for Animated Agents with Reactive and Planning Behaviors
We describe a framework for creating animated simulations of virtual human agents. The framework allows us to capture flexible patterns of activity, reactivity to a changing environment, and certain aspects of an agent personality model. Each leads to variation in how an animated simulation will be realized. As different parts of an activity make different demands oil an agent's resources and d...
متن کاملSoccer Behaviors for Humanoid Robots
As the RoboCup Humanoid League moves from less demanding competitions to soccer games, the complexity of behavior control increases significantly. This calls for structured behavior engineering. In this paper, we describe the design of the behavior control software for the Humanoid League team NimbRo. The control software is based on a framework that supports a hierarchy of reactive behaviors. ...
متن کاملGoal-Based Personalities and Social Behaviors in Believable Agents
Agents are considered ‘‘believable’’ when viewed by an audience as endowed with behaviors, attitudes, and emotions typical of di erent personalities. Our work is aimed at realizing believable agents that perform helping behaviors inuenced by their personalities, which we represent as di erent clusters of prioritized goals and preferences over plans for achieving goals. The article describes ...
